Museo de las Culturas de Oaxaca is a former monastery turned awesome museum — the buildings are beautiful, the artifacts are exceptional, the display designs are first class, and entrance is free if you are a Mexican citizen or a child, about US$4 if you’re not. They also have a great bookstore on site. I’m not sure what more to ask for.
